ALOHA! You have reached this site which has been set up for the MAKANANI FAMILY.
Thank you so much for visiting our Ohana Site. We appreciate you for taking the time to stop by but as you can see, we are still in the process of building this site. In the near future, we have plans to put up a blog so we will all be able to collaborate together and make this site a perfect place where we can all leave ideas, messages and other interesting subjects so we as a family will be able to grow stronger and be able to unite as one. If you don't know, we are in the process of doing a family reunion which we are scheduling for the Summer of 2014. Currently we don't have a definite date as there are issues which need to be resolved. I need to know the number of people that may be coming so we can secure a place to have the reunion. We also would need to know if there are any issues as far as YOUR schedule may be concerned. We would like to be able to have as many family members join us at the reunion so we all can get acquainted or reacquainted as the case may be. Before going on, I would like to explain how this issue came up. Beth and I attended the Celebration of Life for Lyndell on Saturday, 7-27-13, where I was reunited with Lohiau who indicated that the only time we see each other is when we have a funeral for one of our family members. I thought of that for a minute and told him, "yes, you're right, when was the last time I saw you?" It was way too long. He suggested that we do a reunion and this is how it started. Okay, I see myself rambling on. So, before I go, I just want to say it was very, very nice to see everyone there. Hope that Tommy and his immediate family are doing well. It was especially nice to see Aunt Mable and her family, Pat & Pam, Rash and Terri and Aunt Lyn & Frank and their family, Candace, Allison, and Sandy's daughter (no Sandy). It was also very nice to see other members of our family and friends. If I did not mention you, I apologize, but right now it is pass my bedtime and I need to get to bed. I was really happy to see all of you. I have to say I am really sad for Lyndell's passing and she will be missed by all of us. Hope all of you stay safe and I wish all of you health, wealth and happiness.
Love you all!!
PS: I will be adding to this site to make it look better. I will put in pictures or vids and if any of you are willing to share your pictures by all means, do so. As I said earlier, I will try to put in a blog so we will be able to converse. What ever you are willing to share, whether it be pics, vids or tips let me know, together, "We can do this!"
About the Creator: HI! My name is Joe Makanani and my family and friends from my hanabutta days know me as Stookie. This is my first attempt at creating a web site so as you can see, I need some help. Tips, suggestions and critiques are more then welcome. The reason for using the template of a tree is to make a direct reference towards our own family tree. My brother, Kawika, as you well know, has already begun where Aunt Lei had left off in her quest to chart our family history. Lohi was the keeper upon the passing of his mom and dad and through no fault of his own some of the records were lost. My personal life: As you all know, I'm married to Elizabeth Cimino Makanani who is a Realtor for Prudential Loacations. We have been married for twenty three years and have two children, Sean and Emily. I have a son from a previous marriage, Ke Alii, and he lives with his mom here in Mililani where I reside. Ke Alii is married to Sinae and has two children, a girl and a boy. I don't want to leave out my oldest child, JD. I had JD from a girlfriend at a time when I was still a police officer and unmarried at the time. JD just got married this past May and she has one son. (Yeah, I know what you are thinking, JD, who spells their name with initials!) If you know me, then you know I hate to write. JD stands for Joe's Daughter. Registering her name on the birth certificate was a pain. They wanted me to spell it out but being hard headed which was typical for me, they relented. I get heat from JD every time I see her. I will try to post at least once a week. No promises, my main concern is to complete this site. I will be working on this site for as long as it takes. Please, I will leave my contact info and whatever else you need to get hold of me but if you have anything family related like photos and other things let me know!
